What is the probability that at least two of the faces match when you roll four fair six-sided dice? Express your answer as a common fraction.

First die = any number
2nd die  =5/6 probability that it is different from the first.
3rd die  =4/6 probability that it is different from the first two.
4th die  = 3/6 probability that it is different from the first three.

 

Probability is =1 - [6/6 * 5/6 * 4/6 * 3/6]=1 - 360/1296 =936 / 1296 =13 / 18 - probability that at least 2 dice will show the same number.
