(3x  + 1) (x - 2)  = 0

Setting both factors  to 0, we have.....

3x +  1   =     0       and                 x - 2   = 0

3x = -1                                          x = 2

x = -1/3

And those are the two roots [zeros, solutions]

To verify......put either value into the original trinomial and see if you get 0 as a result........you should.......!!!!!
