1. Alex scores the following points during the 5 rounds of the game.
154, 190, 143, 180, 125
What must he score in the next round so the mean for all 6 games is at least 160?
A. 158 points
B. 160 points

2. The table shows the number of cars of a certain type sold by 25 dealers in the last month. Find the value of x and draw a dot plot to represent the data. Find the total number of cars sold by the 30 car dealers.

1. Would be A, because mean is adding up all the numbers then dividing it by how many there are.
Ex. 154 + 190 + 143 + 180 + 125 = 792
Then divide by 5 since there is 5 numbers, 792/5 = 158.4 then round to the nearest tenth so 158.
+128475 Here's (1)
[154 + 190 + 143 + 180 +125 + x ] / 6 = 160 simplify
[792 + x ] / 6 = 160 multiply both sides by 6
792 + x = 960 subtract 792 from both sides
x = 168 = Answer C
+128475 Number (2) is confusing....are there 25 dealers or 30 ???

Without taking "x" into cosideration, 105 cars have been sold by 20 dealers
If there are 25 dealers, x = 5 and the number of cars sold = 135
If there are 30 dealers, x = 10 and the number of cars sold = 165
