Jordan wants to divide his \(48/5\) pounds of chocolate into 4 piles of equal weight. If he gives one of these piles to his friend Shaina, how many pounds of chocolate will Shaina get?

We need to divide 48/5 by 4.....so.....

48 / 5   ÷  4    =

48/5 ÷  4/1       [invert the second fraction and multiply ]

48/5 *  1 /4    =

48 / 20  =

12/5  lbs  = amount that Shaina gets
