How many carbon atoms would it take to equal the length of an average pencil? Given that a pencil is 6.3 inches and a carbon atom is 91 pm, and 2.54 cm = 1 in.

I think this method is used quite often by chemistry teachers but, for some reason that I cannot explain, I have never seen another maths teacher use this technique.

I think it is great I hope you can work out what I am talking about.
