Irrational......since both are irrational, there is no "common denominator" possible......so.....an irrational  results from their diffference.....

That's not true, for example, take sqrt(2) and 1+sqrt(2), their difference will be rational. Maybe, from some point, pi and e have the same decimals, so the difference will be rational
