The number of students taking algebra (A) or chemistry (C) is shown in the diagram below. If the total number of students surveyed to obtain the data is 210, find the following. the link has a picture of the problem, my computer won't let me post pics... but in my problem under A and C is 50 and in the middle it is 30.

Also Given,  Total number os students is 170

 

 

I will assume that A' means the number of students NOT doing A.  The notation I would use is a A bar.     \(\bar A\)

 

\(n(\bar A)=170-50-70 = 50\\ n(\bar C)=170-20-70 = 80\\ n(\bar A \cap \bar C)=170-50-70-20=30 \)
