firstly, if you add a negative number it is take away.
38/39 - 19/3 (you can probably just do it on the calculator now)
If you are doing it by hand you have to turn 19/3 into something/39
3*13=39, if you multiply the bottom by 13, you have to multiply the top by 13 as well 19*13= 247
so 19/3 = 247/39
38/39 - 247/39 = (38-247)/39 = -(247-38)/39 = -209/39 = -5 and 14/39
