Let  the row length  =  L

We have  this equation

Since  the number  of  chairs  she  has  is  the  same  we have

2L  + 1  =  8 L  -11     add  11 to  both sides, subtract  2L from both sides

12  =  6L     divide both  sides  by 6

2  = L
