Let P and Q be constants. The graphs of the lines x + 5y = 7 and 18x + Py = Q are perpendicular and intersect at the point (-3,2). Enter the ordered pair (P,Q).

18(-3) + p(2) = q

 

slope of first line is -1/5     to be perpindicular second line must be  5 

    soo   y = -18/p  x +q/p        - 18/p = 5

                                              -18/ 5 = p =  -3.6

Then using red equation   -54 + 2(-3.6) = q = -61.2

 

 

x + 5y =7

18x -3.6y = -61.2
