Sam and Delilah are reading different books. Today, Sam and Delilah read
one chapter in their respective books, and they each read more than one page.
Interestingly, they read the same number of pages, but the sum of the page
numbers for the chapter Sam read was 880, and the sum of the page numbers for
the chapter Delilah read was 1008. How many pages did Sam read today?

Sam Read 32 pages from page 12 to 43 inclusive =880

 

Delilah also read 32 pages from page 16 to 47 inclusive =1008

These are arithmetic sequences:
1- 880 = 16 * [2F + 31], solve for F
F =12 - First page. 12+31 =43 - Last page
43 - 12 + 1 = 32 pages That Sam read.

 

2 - 1008 = 16 * [2F + 31], solve for F
F = 16 first page. 16+31 =47 - last page
47 - 16 + 1 =32 pages that Delilah read.
