This basically means, solve the system of equations for x and y....you CAN do it graphically

  or algebraically:

2x+3y=7         Multiply by -3 ==> -6x - 9y = -21

3x+4y= -8       Multiply by 2 ==>   6x + 8y = -16     See what I did there?  Now add the two equations together and the 'x' part disappears

                                                          -y = - 37    y = 37    now sub this value of y into oneof the equations to find the 'x' value and you're done.
