We know that the ratio is going to be model:building. Another way I would write this is model/building. In this case, the model is 24 inches and the building is 1,454 feet tall. That makes our ratio 24 inches/ 1,454 feet. We can then reduce it like a fraction, making it 12/727, or 12:727.

We need to deal in the same units.....24 inches = 2 ft....so....

2 ft : 1454 ft   =

1 ft :  727 ft  =

1 : 727
