First, find the area of the circle using:  Area  =  pi · r²

Since there are 360^o in a circle but you only want a sector of size 48^o,

multiply the answer that you got for the area of the circle by the fraction (48/360).

A circle with radius 6 has a sector with a central angle of 48º.  What is the area of the sector?

Area of the sector:   A = [ (r² * pi) / 360 ] * 48
