60 students take an exam with two questions a andbb. If 35 students solve question a, 28 solve question b, and 5 students solve neither of the two questions, how many students solved only question a?
Here is a Venn Diagram of this situation;
how did we know the "8" between a & b?
5 students solved neither question leaving 55
35 + 28 = 63 which is 8 more than 55 ....so there must be an '8' overlap .....
Thanks!!
