Find the areas of the following triangles.  Round to the nearest hundredth:

a) a=3, b=6, C=35°

b) a=5, b=11, c=7

If you know SAS, use this formula:  Area  =  a·b·sin(C)

where a and b are a pair of sides and angle(C) is the included angle.

For this problem:  Area  =  3 · 6 · sin(35o)  =

If you know SSS, use Heron's formula:  Area  =  sqrt( s · (s - a) · (s - b) · (s - c) )

      where s is the semiperimeter:  s  =  (a + b + c) / 2

Place the numbers into these two formulas ...

geno3141 made a "typo" in the first one: Area =1/2*[a . b. sin(C) ]
