I've gotten my answer for this problem that I am currently working on, but I need to write it in a+bi form where a and b are real numbers. So how do I write both (-4)^1/4 and -(-4)^1/4 in a+bi form?
Try using exponential form.
\(\sqrt[4]{4}\) i
-\(\sqrt[4]{4}\) i
There are four possibilities, illustrated by the following:
