The rectangle is  inscribed in a regular hexagon

(1/2)  of the width of the rectangle =  √3/2

So  the width is 2 times this  =√3  units

The height ,H, of the rectangle can be found as   2  +  2 (1/2)   =  3 units

So.....the area  of the rectangle =  H * W   =  3√3  units^2
