If I know that sinx = 3/4 and that 90<x<180 how can i find cosx and tanx
Think of the acute angle first.
Draw a right angled triangle and label on of the acute angles x
sinx=3/4 so label the opposite side 3 and the hypotenuse 4
Find the other side using the pythagorean theorem.
It will be sqrt(16-9)=sqrt7
BUT x is really in the second quadrant so cos and tan will both be negative
\(cos x =\frac{- \sqrt7}{4}\\ and\\ tan x = \frac{-3}{\sqrt7}\\ \)
