A cheesecake has equally sized slices. Each slice is a different flavor. The diameter of the cheesecake is 10 inches, and the area of the slice of blueberry cheesecake is 25π/12 square inches.
How many slices does the cheesecake have?
The radius = 5 in
The area of the cheesecake = pi * (5)^2 = 25 pi
So....the area divided by the number of slices will equal the area of one of the slices.....let the number of slices = N
So we have this
(25 pi) / 12 = 25 pi / N divide out pi
(25/12) = 25 / N rearrange as
N = 25 / ( 25/12)
N = (25/1) ( (12/25)
N = 12
