Sin = opp/hypot          opp = 4   hyp = 9

 

adjacent leg using pythagorean theorem

  4^2 = ADJ^2 = 9^2

ADJ^2 = 65

ADJ = SQRT 65   

 

 TAN = OPP/ADJ =  4/ SQRT65    WHICH EQUALS    4 SQRT65 / 65   IF YOU MULTIPLY BY SQRT65/SQRT65
