There is no actual "work" to be shown. You just have to know. You have to memorize / learn the multiplication tables.
I don't know when multiplication tables are introduced to students nowadays. When I was in 6th grade, our teacher Mr Freeman, for minor classroom infractions would assign us to write out a certain number of complete sets of multiplication tables, the times 2's all the way up to the times 12's. For major infractions, he had a wooden paddle which he used with no small amount of vigor.
