First off...let's get rid of the decimals in the second equation by multiplying through by 100

This gives

158p + 109g = 346     (1)

And    p + g = 2.5    we can rearrange as   g = 2.5 - p    (2)

Put  (2)  into (1)   and we have

158p + 109 (2.5 - p) = 346      simplify

158p + 272.5 - 109p = 346

49p + 272.5 = 346       subtract 272.5 from both sides

49p   = 73.5       divide both sides by 49

p = 1.5 lbs  of peaches

And   g = 2.5 - p   =  2.5 - 1.5   =  1 lbs of grapefruit
