The formula for pythagorean theorem is a2+b2=c2. A is the short leg, B is the long leg, and C is the hypotenuse. You are given the long leg(24) and the short leg(10). They want you to find the hypotenuse.

So you are going to do...

\(10^2+24^2=x^2\)

\(100+576=x^2\)

\(676=x^2\)

\(\sqrt{676}=\sqrt{x^2} \)

\(26=x\)

With this said, the hypotenuse is going to be 26
