A, B, and C are collinear, and B is between A and C. The ratio of AB to BC is 1:2.  If A is at (-9, -7) and B is at (-4,-6), what are the coordinates of point C?

A ratio of 1:2 divides the line in to   1/3  and 2/3      The distance   A to B is 1/3

   look at the x coordinate of A and B    -9   to  -4   is   1/3     a distance of  5      2/3 would be  10 added to the -4  = 6

                     y coordinate     A  to  B     -7  to  - 6    is 1/3      a distance of 1       2/3 would be  2 more added to B  -6 + 2 = -4

C is  (6,-4)
