The clearest way to calculate this is to use 100*(1-(Xt2/Xt1))  where X is the price and t is the year.

 

Which translates to 100*(1-(3550/3000))=18.33%

 

The *100 is simply there to get 18.33 instead of 0.1833 which might make it easier to read out.
