-7w - 3/4 = (−5/3)w-1/3

Add 1/3 to both sides

-7w  - 3/4  + 1/3   =  (-5/3)w

Add 7 w to both sides

-3/4 + 1/3  =  (-5/3)w + 7w        

Get common denominators  of 12 on the left and 3 on the right

-9/12 + 4/12  =  (-5/3)w + (21/3)w    

Simplify

-5/12  = (16/3)w   

Multiply both sides by (3/16)

(3/16)(-5/12)  = w =   (3/12)(-5/16)  = (1/4)(-5/16)  =  -5/64
