Find \(\lfloor |-4.2| \rfloor + |\lfloor -4.2 \rfloor|\)

ok so if we find the first term...

we calculate the absolute value first so it is 4.2 and then floor it, giving us 4

 

for the second term, it is -5 because that is what the floor of -4.2 is... the absolute value of -5 is 5

 

4 + 5 = 9
