The population DOUBLES every THREE years.....this is TWO sets of THREE years

800    doubled  is   1600

and it doubles ONCE more

1600 doubled is 3200

Since the beginning of 2002,the number of student in Spring Lake high school has doubled every 3-year period. If there were 800 students in the school at the beginning of 2002,how many students are in the school at the beginning of 2008?

I would do,

800 * 6

Which would make it, 4800

if it is like that it need to be

800×2x2=3200

but smth in me saying that it need to be harder
