I know that: 

Whatever is below the x-axis for the derivative I know it means the original is decreasing. Above the x-axis, it means the original is increasing. 

The x-intercepts on the derivative = max/min on the original. 

The y-value = Slope 

 

But I'm still a bit confused . . .
