Sine (or Sin) is a trigonometric notation used in a multitude of ways, you'll learn more as you go. Sine represents the "y" coordinate for an angle on the unit circle, if you get some random number while putting a number with sine, it's usually below one or just one. This is because the unit circle has a radius of one, as I said you'll learn more as you go. Sine plays an important role in higher level math so expect to be seeing it more often.
