Ditto. I try NOT to give answers...I do not think it helps anyone.....I try to give methods and directions, so the poster of the Q has to do the work (and possibly) learn something along the way..... 
+298 I *agree*, but I like to answer directly because there is always a possibility that the person doesn't know how to solve it.
As you said, this question is easy and the guest doesn't know how to do it, so that means the guest might not know how to solve the equation as well.
+2862 99.99999% of the time the answer will just be copied and the question asker will not understand the solution if they didn't do anything to get their answer.
In my opinion the an answer should give a hint or leave an equation to solve. That will make the question asker at least understand the solution somewhat and learn.
