The volume of a rectangular prism is 960 cubic inches. If the dimensions of the base are doubled and the height remains the same to create a new prism, what will be the volume of the new rectangular prism in cubic inches?
Record your answer and fill in the bubbles on your answer document
V=WHL
Since the dimension of the base are doubling, or going up by 2, then the area will go up by a facor of: 2^2=4 times. And since the height remains the same, then the volume of the recangular prizm will also go up by a factor of 4.
Therefore 960 cubic inches X 4=3,840 cubic inches.
