2*x=2x (not close enough)
2*2x=4x
2*3x=6x
2*4x=8x (just right)
2*5=10x (too large)
After you find out that 2 goes into 9 four times (without going to large). You can see that their is still a one after you take 4 out of 9x/2, which looks like 1x/2 (you can just leave it like this) and add it to how many times 2 went into 9.
So you can say 9x over 2 is 4 1/2x which is also equal to 4.5x in decimal form.
