Each gallon of paint covers 400 square feet. I have to paint one side of a wall that is 8 meters tall and 40 meters long. If a foot is approximately 0.3048 meters, then what is the smallest whole number of gallons I can buy and have enough paint to cover the whole wall?

Thanks!!

Well, I don't know if this is correct, but...

8m*40m=320m^2 and 320 meters is approximately 320m2(1ft/0.3048m)2(1gal/400ft2)=8.611 galllons( unit conversions) feet, so 9 gallons?

8 x 40 = 320 m^2    =

320 m^2   /  (.3048 m/f )^2 =  3444.45 ft^2

3444.45 ft^2 / 400 ft^2/gal  =  8.61 gal =~ 9 gallons of paint required
