what is total taxable income the same as total income ? why or why not ?

.....THEN , when you prepare your income tax return, there are numerous deductions (personal exemptions, dependents,charitable deductions, mortgage interest to name but a few) to your take home income which further reduce it to your TAXABLE Income.

When you work, you are paid a salary, which is your GROSS income. From that the governments take taxes, pension deductions, insurance and other deductions.After ALL the deductions are taken out of your GROSS income, then you are left with NET income, or your take-home pay.
