The sum of two integers is 701, and the larger number is 13 more than 7 times the smaller number. Find the two integers.

 

Let the smaller number=n

Then the larger =7n + 13

 

n + 7n + 13 =701

8n =701 - 13

8n = 688 divide both sides by 8

n =688 / 8

n = 86 the smaller number.

86 x 7 +13 =615 the larger number.
