What are the coordinates of the hole in the graph of the function f(x) ?

f(x)=x^2−9/x−3

f(x)  =  [ x^2 - 9 ] / [ x - 3]

Factor the numerator

f(x)=  [ x + 3 ] [ x - 3 ] / [ x - 3 ]                    "cancel " the   x - 3  factors

f(x) =  x + 3       (1)

Since  x = 3 makes the original denominator 0......the "hole" occurs at this x value

And using (1)......the y value is   (3) + 3 =  6

So.....the coordinates of the "hole"   =  (3, 6)
