i will answer this question but walk it through.

78=3-c+4

First you would add up like terms.

This means like individual numbers and numbers with varibles.

And the opperation in front of the number decide if its positve or negitive.

So if there is a adition sign in frount of 7 it would be positive.

if there was a subtraction sign in front of 7 it would be negitive.

So first we would combine like terms which would be 4 and 3.

We would end up with:

78=7-c

Now that you did that you would have to get rid of the 7 because the varible needs to be by its self in the equation.

But you would have to subtract 7 on the other side as well because it would be uneven if we didnt then we would end up wrong.

78

-7

71

7

-7

0

We would now have:

71=-c

but the varible is negitive so you need to divide it by -1 because multiplying a negitive and a negitive would make it positive.

But as with subtracting to get c by its self we need to divide both side by -1.

71 -c

-71=c

So we end up with c equaling -78.

Was this helpful?

78 = 3c+12-c+4    combine like terms on the right

78 = 2c + 16    subtract 16 from both sides

62  = 2c     divide both sides by 2

31 = c

cool cool cool
