A two-way frequency table is shown below the displays the relationship between television technology type and television size sold at a local retail outlet. Store managers took a sample of 90 people and recorded the following results:
Plasma TV LCD TV Projection TV Total
54 inches 15 18 4 37
68 inches 14 12 3 29
86 inches 6 13 5 24
Total 35 43 12 90
The retail outlet is putting LCD televisions on sale. Given this information, what percent (rounded to the nearest whole percent) of the warehouse should be stocked with 86-inch televisions?
A. 14%
B. 13%
C. 30%
D. 54%
Well, according to the chart 13 out of 90 want a 86 inch LCD television 13/90 = 14.4% or 14% rounded
Though the question asks what percent of the warehouse should be stocked with 86-inch televeisions ....it doesn't really ask for 'LCD televisions' (even though they are referred as 'on sale')...it only asks for 86 inch televisions which would be 24/90 or 26% (but this is not an answer option.....so I suspect they MEANT to ask about 86 - inch LCD televisions).
