If f(a,b)=2a-3b^(2)+7 and f(b,3)=90 what is b?

I'm confused about whether the order in a function is relevant or whether the symbols are. Basically I don't understand if a=b or if a=a in this specific equation.. (sorry if that's confusing)

The symbols are not relevant; f(a, b) was just an example. It wasn't part of the question.

Now I think you can just plug in the stuff to get 2b - 27 + 7 = 90 => b = 55. :)
