At a supermarket, 1/2 of the kiwifruits and 1/7 of the strawberries were rotten. The ratio of the total number of strawberries were rotten. The ratio of the total number of strawberries to the number of kiwifruits was 7:3. If there was 245 rotten kiwifruits and strawberries, how many kiwifruits and strawberries were there altogether?

K==Kiwis,   S==Strawberries

(1/2)K + (1/7)S==245.........................(1)

S / K ==7 / 3.......................................(2),  solve for K, S

K ==294 Kiwifruits

S ==686 strawberries

294 + 686 ==980 kiwisfruits and strawberries altogether.
