Because its all the same notation, theres no need to change anything:

4/5+1/2-1/3

13/10-1/3

29/30

Hope that helped!!

Thanks Gr but your answer is too difficult for anyone, who would ask this question, to understand.

4/5+1/2-1/3

You cannot add or subtract fractions unless the bottoms are the same.

The bottoms (denominators) are 5, 2, and 3

What is the smallest number that can be divided by all of these?

5*6=30

2*15=30

3*10=30

so all the fractions can be changed to something over 30.

\(\frac{4}{5}*\frac{6}{6}=\frac{24}{30}\)

Now do the other 2 yourself and then the answer will be  24-what you get for 1/2 +what you get for 1/3all over 30.
