y=x+2;y=-x solve of x and y
y=x+2 (1)
y=-x (2)
We can directly substitute (2) into (1) for y ... and we have
-x = x + 2 subtract x from both sides
-2x = 2 divide both sides by -2
x = -1
And using (2) ....y = -x ....... so y = -(-1) = 1
