We need to find the radius

 

Circumference = 2 pi * r

 

37.68   =  2pi *r         divide both sides by 2pi

 

37.68/ (2pi)  = r

 

 

The  surface area  =  4 pi r^2......sub "r"  into this and we get

 

4pi  [ 37.68 / (2pi) ] ^2  ≈  451.9 km^2
