There is a spinner with 14 equal areas, numbered 1 through 14. If the spinner is spun one time, what is the probability that the result is a multiple of 6 and a multiple of 4?

The probability of the spinner landing on a multiple of 6 and a multiple of 4 is 0. There are no numbers that are multiples of both 6 and 4, so the probability of landing on one is 0.

The only number that will satisfy the stipulation that it

be a multiple of 6 and a multiple of 4 is the number 12.

It could land on one of 14 areas,

but only one is the desired area,

then the probability is 1 in 14.
