Asking how many y-intercepts does the graph of the parabola  x  =  2y² - 3y + 7 have

is equivalent to

asking how many x-intercepts does the graph of the parabola  y  =  2x² - 3x + 7 have.

 

Using the discriminant:  b² - 4ac  =  (-3)² - 4(2)(7)  =  9 - 56  =  -47

 

Since the discriminant is negative, there are no intercepts.
