Lines $y=(3a+2)x-2$ and $2y=(a-4)x+2$ are parallel. What is the value of $a$?

Put both lines into   y = mx + b form     m is the slope....for the lines to be || the slope must be the same

y = (3a+2)x - 2

y = 1/2(a-4) x +1              so    3a+ 2   =  1/2 (a-4)     I'll let you finish......cheeky

(1.)we make a graph

https://www.geogebra.org/calculator/tpgvduhz

and we find that a=-1.6 to make lines \(y=(3a+2)x-2\) and \(2y=(a-4)x+2\)

(2.)We can use slopes to find that
