If $a$ is the $x$-intercept, $b$ is the $y$-intercept, and $m$ is the slope of the line with equation $\frac{x}4 + \frac{y}{12} = 1$, then what is the value of $a + b + m$?

Multiplying  the original equation through by  12  we get

3x  + y =  12      rearrange as

y  =  -3x  + 12

m = -3     b  =12

x intercept....set y=  0

0 = -3x + 12

-12 = -3x

-12/-3 = 4   = x intercept  = a

a + b + m  =

4  + 12   -  3   =

13
