hey guys.I am confuse in solving square root of negative number. well ,please anwser the following question.Thank you!
1. square root of a ,can a be negative number?
2. can square root of a(a<0) apply to the fomula "square root of a times square root of b equal to square root of ab"?that mean does square root of a (a<0) times square root of b (b<0) eqaual to square root of ab?
3,square root of a's square equal to?
situation 1 when a>0 square root of a 's square =a
situation 2 when a<0 or =0 su=quare root of a ,s square =-a
is that right?
4 same thing for (square root of a )'s square
when a >0 (square root of a )'s square =a
when a<0 or =0 (square root of a )'s square =-a ( i see this in my ninth grade pratice book)
5 but squarre root of -1= i and i^2=-1
that mean (square root of a )'s square =a when a <0 that is why I confuse
6 like question square root of (a+6)'s square
square root of (a+6)'s square =square root of (a+6)'s square =a+6
square root of (a+6)'s square =square root of (a+6)(a+6)=square root of (-1)*(-a-6)*(-1)*(-a-6)=square root of (-a-6)^2=-a-6
